Centre for Health Research, Survey and Consultancy The Centre will collect, collate, and process data based on the requirements of the Government and various other National and International agencies and enhance the body of knowledge in the health and hospital management field and help the governments / policy makers in better planning and decision making in the region. Efforts will also be made to collect and streamline all the existing data base for easy access and reference. The focus areas of the centre would be to conduct research in:
Besides research, the institute will also engage in organizational consulting in the areas of health care management, project planning and implementation of health programs. To improve the management practices in health and related systems, the institute will take up the role of a training organization. Training in and dissemination of knowledge and skills of management among health managers, planners, decision makers, trainers and research scientists will be the main focus of its activities. This will be done by organizing management development programs, meetings, conferences, seminars, workshops, brain storming sessions and problem solving field assignments and visits. These activities fall into two major categories: Long duration comprehensive educational program, and A two year post graduate program in hospital and health management will be conducted by the Institute to train professional managers with requisite skills for running sophisticated state-of-the-art medical and health care institutions in the region in both the public and the private sectors and to meet the rising demand for quality care. The institute will conduct Management Development Programs (MDPs) every year for the managers and mid-career professionals in health and hospital management with the objective of providing and updating their knowledge and skills in the latest approaches to management issues and the emerging tools and techniques. Each MDP will be for duration of 1 week, and some may be designed to meet the specific requirements of the sponsoring organization. Some of the areas in which the institution would undertake management development programs would be:
Regional Resource Centre for Health and Population One of the major activities of the institute will be networking of the training and educational institutions in the area of health management and training in the region; and also dissemination of information in the areas of research as well as other resource material for training and human resource development. |
